Joan Askegaard

Joan joined Lindner Media Productions as the company’s CFO, in November of 2013. She loves interacting with the creative and energetic staff; she is thrilled to be a part of such a dynamic organization.

Joan’s personal life and experiences make Lindner Media a perfect fit for her. She and her husband, and three sons, all wilderness camping enthusiasts, enjoy canoeing and backpacking. Their family trips always center around fishing. Some of their favorite destinations have been: the Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, where they have pursued walleye, pike, smallmouth bass and lake trout; and the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area in Montana, where they love fly fishing various forks of the Blackfoot River.

In their own backyard, Joan and her family also appreciate fishing locally here in Minnesota. When the children were growing up, they formed “The Tangled Lines Family Fishing League,” which was a very successful in getting families out fishing on the many Brainerd area lakes. Joan and her husband, Erik, have organized and hosted summer fishing outings for Kinship Partners, a non-profit youth mentoring organization serving families in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

With degrees in theology and pastoral ministries, Joan graduated from St. Catherine’s University in St. Paul, Minnesota. She taught high school in Hawaii for two years. After returning to her home state of Minnesota, she discovered that she had an interest and strong aptitude for small business operations. Today, she has over 25 years of experience in office management, administration and accounting.
